Frequently asked questions

How often should hedges be trimmed?
Most formal hedges look best with one or two cuts a year. Fast growers like conifers may need more. We will suggest a schedule that keeps yours neat without over-cutting.
Can you reduce the height of a tall hedge?
Yes. We can reduce height and width to a level you are happy with, taking care not to leave bare patches. Very overgrown hedges may be staged over a couple of seasons.
Should I check for nesting birds first?
We do. Active nests are protected by law, so we check hedges before cutting and time the work to avoid disturbing nesting birds where possible.
Do you cut hedges to a set shape?
We can, flat-topped, rounded, tapered or formal. Tell us the finish you want and we will keep it consistent each visit.
Can you cut a very tall hedge?
Yes. We have the access equipment to safely trim and reduce tall hedges and screens, and we clear all the arisings afterwards.
Do you offer regular hedge cutting?
