What we do

Frequently asked questions

How deep do you grind stumps?
Usually 150 to 300mm below ground level, deeper if you are replanting or laying a patio. Tell us your plans and we will grind to the right depth.
Can you get the grinder into my back garden?
In most cases yes. Our machines are built to fit through standard gateways. If access is very tight, we will find the best way in or advise on alternatives.
What happens to the wood chippings?
You can keep them as mulch, we can dig them out and remove them, or leave them to break down. Just let us know what suits you.
Do I have to grind the stump after removal?
Not always, but stumps can regrow, attract pests and get in the way of replanting. Grinding removes those problems and frees up the ground.
Will grinding damage my lawn or paving?
We take care to protect surrounding surfaces and work around them. Any mess from the grinding is raked back and tidied when we finish.
Can I plant a new tree where the old one was?
Once the stump and main roots are ground out and the chippings cleared, the ground is usually ready for replanting or landscaping.
